Mastiff
The Mastiff lamp, part of Rimsa’s Veterinary Series, is specifically designed to meet the needs of the veterinary world by providing fully illuminated operating conditions. Utilizing Rimsa’s patented 2R lighting technology, the Mastiff lamp eliminates glare through double reflection and optical collimation of LED rays. These rays pass through an aspherical lens, are projected onto two elliptical mirrors, and are finally filtered by a screen with controlled roughness. This innovative design ensures the operating table is completely illuminated.
Strengthened by the result achieved in 2002 with the first LED surgical lamp in the world, in 2017 Rimsa presented to the public the first surgical lamp without any glare.

Features
The Mastiff or light of the Veterinary Series was born from the needs of the veterinary world to operate in a full light condition. This means having a completely illuminated operating table. With the Mastiff light, this condition has been successfully met thanks to RIMSA’s patented lighting technology. In fact, the Mastiff uses 2R technology, thanks to which glare has been completely eliminated. This technology works through double reflection and optical collimation of the rays coming from the LEDs. The rays are directed through an aspherical lens and then projected onto two elliptical mirrors. Finally, they are filtered by a screen with controlled roughness.
At the same time, the reflector allows the maximum possible lighting beam. The reflector dome is designed and engineered to provide a comfortable grip for the user during operation.
Lighting
There are 84 LEDs and their colour temperature can be adjusted: seven temperatures from 3,800 K to 5,000 K can be selected.
Play
The lamp can be activated and adjusted via the special membrane keypad on one side of the reflector or via the convenient sterilizable handle.

LIGHT WITHOUT GLARE:Thanks to the “2R” technology it was in fact possible to completely suppres the glare: the sensation of blindness created by looking at a highly luminous surface like a scialytic lamp. The 2R technology is based on a double reflection. The use of this technology, developed in collaboration with a national university, also allows for the maximization of the light emitting surface.
COMPENSATION AREA:The risky effect of black spots resulting from direct glare is further reduced by the presence of a compensation area: an area with low light intensity around the surgical field that mitigates the visual transition from an area with high light intensity to a darker one.
MANEUVERABILITY: Mastiff has been conceived, designed and built to meet ergonomics and maneuverability requirements; the reflector was designed to allow a comfortable grip by the operator, the light intensity can be adjusted by the sterilizable handle and then by the surgeon himself during the operation through a touch command.
